Ever since Henry was old enough to swing a hammer, he developed a love for woodworking. He studied carpentry in tech school, working for his fathers company building custom homes. Two years after marriage, in 1992, J&H Bender was established.
We developed an excellent reputation for quick, quality construction in the hospitality industry that included millwork and furniture installations for retail establishments as well as hotels and restaurants all over the US.
With the changing of times and the hospitality industry slowing down, we have now been given the opportunity to focus on our passion for crafting custom solid wood furnishings from our locally and responsibly sourced hardwood lumber. Mayland has a great variety of wood species to choose from!
